Liberatum, the pioneering global cultural diplomacy organization dedicated to celebrating and advancing humanity’s creative, social, and ecological achievements, proudly announces the 13th Liberatum Cultural Honour ceremony and gala. It will be held in London, United Kingdom on 15th October 2025.

This year’s prestigious honour will be bestowed upon Chief Raoni Metuktire, the world-renowned Indigenous leader of the Kayapó people and an emblematic defender of the Amazon rainforest and Indigenous rights. Chief Raoni’s recognition by Liberatum comes at a decisive moment for the planet, just two weeks before the United Nations COP30 conference in Brazil, centred in the Amazon where Chief Raoni will play a vital role.

The historic gala will be co-hosted by an extraordinary assembly of cultural and humanitarian icons. Their collective presence underscores the urgency of safeguarding our planet and amplifying the wisdom and leadership of Indigenous communities in the fight against ecological and cultural devastation.

For over half a century, Chief Raoni has been a tireless advocate for Indigenous sovereignty, the preservation of the Amazon, and the recognition of the interconnectedness of humanity and nature. His lifelong commitment has made him one of the most respected global voices for environmental justice and cultural resilience.

The Liberatum Cultural Honour has, since its inception, recognized extraordinary figures whose contributions transcend disciplines and inspire humanity to reach higher levels of awareness, artistry, and responsibility. Past honorees include visionaries, creators, and change-makers who embody the transformative power of culture in shaping a more humane and sustainable world.

This year’s ceremony promises to be one of the most significant in Liberatum’s history, convening global leaders in art, cinema, music, and activism alongside Indigenous voices and environmental advocates. Together, they will pay tribute to Chief Raoni’s unparalleled legacy while amplifying the urgency of ecological stewardship in the face of climate crisis.

At 93, Chief Raoni is in the twilight of his life. As a living symbol of the fight for the preservation of the Amazon rainforest and indigenous culture, and a great hero of our time, his presence in London to receive the Liberatum Cultural Honour Award will be a globally resonant and momentous occasion.
